Free audit

A small Amazon agency, on purpose.

Shelfcrest is a founder-led Amazon agency for private label and DTC brands. One person does the work, the prices are published, and every engagement starts with a written audit.

Where "Shelfcrest" comes from

One results page, and the crest above it

In ecommerce, the digital shelf is the name for everywhere a product appears online: the search results page, the product page, the category, the ads next to a competitor's listing. On Amazon, that shelf is one results page, and most shoppers never scroll far down it.

A crest is the top of something: a wave, a hill, a ridge. Shelfcrest is the top of the digital shelf, the place in the results where shoppers actually look. The job the name describes is getting a product there, and keeping it there without paying more for every sale than the sale is worth.

The stepped tower on the homepage is the same idea in three dimensions. Each tier is one part of the work, from the audit at the base to growth at the top, and one parcel reaches the summit.

Why start another Amazon agency

Hiring an Amazon agency comes with a familiar set of risks. The person on the sales call may not be the person in the account. A fee tied to ad spend rewards recommending more spend. A report can show impressions and clicks without saying whether a single ad sale made a profit. And if the campaigns are built in the agency's own structure, the knowledge can leave when the agency does.

None of those problems need a bigger agency to fix.

They need a different set of defaults: a named person doing the work, a fee that does not grow with spend, reports built around margin, and an account that stays the brand's property from the first day to the last. Shelfcrest is built around those defaults.

Who does the work

Marko Ristić

Founder, Shelfcrest

Marko Ristić started Shelfcrest in 2026 to run Amazon accounts the way this page describes: one person doing the work, flat prices published in advance, and a written audit before anything is signed.

He does the audits, keyword maps, listing drafts and campaign changes himself. The guides on this site follow the same rule as the work: each one is built from Amazon's own help pages and lists its sources with the date they were checked.

Five things Shelfcrest believes about Amazon

  1. Margin decides, not ACoS

An ACoS only means something next to the profit margin behind it. Every bid starts there.

  2. The listing comes before the ads

Advertising a listing that does not convert pays Amazon to show shoppers a page they will leave.

  3. Amazon's rules are the starting point

Title limits, prohibited terms and image requirements change. The work follows Amazon's current help pages, not last year's habits.

  4. The account belongs to the brand

Campaigns, reports and listing copy are the brand's property, before, during and after any engagement.

  5. Nobody can promise a ranking

Amazon controls its search results. What can be promised is the work, how often it is done, and an honest report.

How a Shelfcrest engagement runs

The engagement drawn as five rising steps, the first free, the last repeating every month 0102030405 every month
Five steps, the first one free, the last repeating
  1. A written audit

Free, before anything is signed. It ranks what is costing rank, clicks and margin.

  2. Access through permissions

The brand adds Shelfcrest as a Seller Central user with only the permissions the work needs. Never a password.

  3. A 90 day plan

Which products, which changes, in which order, agreed before work starts.

  4. Weekly work

Search terms, negatives and bids every week; listing changes sent for approval before they are published.

  5. A monthly report

What changed, why, and what it did to sessions, conversion, ACoS against break-even, and TACoS.

Tools and data

Most of the work happens in the tools every seller already has. Nothing requires moving your data somewhere new.

Reports are shared as documents you keep. If a paid tool is used for your account, the report says which one and what it measured.

Who Shelfcrest works with, and who it turns down

Works with

  • Private label brands with a product that has stalled
  • DTC brands bringing an existing product onto Amazon
  • Brands launching a new ASIN
  • Brands that want a second opinion on the agency they already pay

Turns down

  • Requests to guarantee a ranking or a sales number
  • Anything involving fake reviews, review manipulation or incentivized reviews
  • Products that break Amazon's restricted products policies
  • Work that would use another brand's name in listings or search terms
  • Vendor Central only accounts

How a Shelfcrest guide is made

The listing tier of the crest, where the guides come from
Tier 02: the listing work the guides describe
  1. Start from the question

Each guide answers one question sellers actually search for, such as the backend keyword limit or what TACoS means.

  2. Read Amazon's own pages

Every rule, limit and fee comes from Seller Central help or Amazon Ads documentation, read on a recorded date.

  3. Work the example

Formulas are shown with a worked example on an illustrative product, and the arithmetic is checked.

  4. Mark what is not a rule

Practice and judgment are labeled as such, separate from what Amazon requires.

  5. List the sources

Every guide ends with its sources and the date each was last verified.

  6. Review and correct

Fee and policy guides are reviewed at least once a year, and any correction is noted on the page.

  • Claim an Amazon partner status or certification it does not hold
  • Ask for a Seller Central password
  • Charge a percentage of your ad spend
  • Keep your campaigns, files or reports when you leave
